Week 10 - Presentations

The anime that really appealed to me the most is Pretty Cure, the presenter seemed to be very enthusiastic about it, which was quite entertaining. Something I found interesting about the series, though, is how much of it there is. I love how sickeningly cute it is, but it does sort of bother me the absurdly large amount of characters there are.

What I like about Pretty Cure is that it poses like a sort of Dragonball Z for girls. I noticed it has that aspect of unnecessarily long fight sequences that draw out the show, but I usually expect that out of a long running series. It's awesome watching anime girls work together to fight monsters to save the world, and god it's amazing seeing them spawn a huge, deadly magical parfait. I do love it when magical girl anime delve into darker themes though, which is why I like Madoka Magica so much, but that one is more of a stretch in comparison.

I suppose the appeal of this show is the design of it. Despite the big cast of characters, it gives the viewers options to pick out their favourites. There was a couple characters that I was drawn to solely for their designs, and I wanted to learn more about them and what they do. I suppose this is the same reason why people like idol anime like AKB0048 and Love Live!
